A Perfect Person 1200x720

Velkommen til arbeidsvisning av skuespiller og dramatiker Gabel Eibens nye tekst!

You have to be willing to be cringe. Right? You have to be willing to believe in something, say it, and then have said it slightly wrong. Or years later be like, “Oh my God, that was such a basic bitch point.” Like why did I feel like I was making such a -you know a huge- but everybody moves at their own speed. I have so many- I leave a bunch of cringe shit that I’ve said out there which is outdated, but you can look at the date and be like, “Oh well, that was the time.” But it’s really- it’s really hard when the semantics that you use- I mean you’re not here, but I’m in the seat of imperialism, and we put shit out on the internet that gets heard and reposted, and the wrong semantics you use can help people support their own ideas about genocide- or fascism or whatever. You know what I mean? You’ll never get it exactly right. You won’t.”

In conversation with friends, colleagues, and real-hard-thinkers, Gabel Eiben’s A perfect person fails to answer what is right and wrong. It fails to have a concrete perspective on the best way to be a parent, actor, partner, friend, or even really a person at all. But it tries, it tries really hard.
